Jockblocked (Gridiron #2) by Jen Frederick 1/5

Jockblocked (Gridiron #2) by Jen Frederick

Genre: Young Adult Contemporary Romance

Sensuality: 6

I can't get into this one at all. I feel sad about that fact. I swear I'm hurting this book's feelings.

The writing is strange to me...The author is not getting into the story soon enough. I find myself getting bored.

I guess I should have finished it, but I CAN'T! It's killing me softly.

Chasing the Tide #2 by A. Meredith Walters 3/5

Chasing the Tide by A. Meredith Walters

Genre: Young Adult Contemporary Romance

Sensuality: 6

I was excited to read about these characters again. I thought that the author was going to spend more time on the actual relationship, but instead a chunk of this story was a bunch of childhood flashbacks.

The flashbacks don't really help the story, especially since the author gave us a bit of both characters history in book 1. It felt repetitive.

The heroine was a tough cookie from the beginning, so I was not shocked that I  didn't feel for her 100% in this book. I should have loved her a bit more. The story itself is boring but the hero made it worthwhile. As I said before, I wish she focused more on the couples new life together.

I had to finish it though.

Unleashed (Ross Siblings #1, #2, #3) by Cherrie Lynn 3/5

Unleashed (Ross Siblings #1, #2, #3) by Cherrie Lynn

Genre: Contemporary Romance

Sensuality: 9

I was positive that I read these books before. Maybe I did a while back. They are all written with the classic romance formula, so don't expect any unique plot twists or anything. They are sweet reads through.

Now, I read all three sibling's stories. Big brother represents #1, little brother #2 and big sister #3. Lynn writes a very good story. This is a nice summer read to kill the time. The author did warn about how HOTT these books are! ;) I've read Ghost's story too, it was a bit underwhelming somehow though. I still love his character though!! :)

These books aren't too shabby at all. I do wish we got to learn a bit more about the couples though, but it wasn't about that I think. They seem to focus on that raw physical attraction that just can't be denied!!!

3/5  * They all are so similar when you boil it all down.

Happy reading!

Mad Love by Colet Abedi 2/5

Mad Love by Colet Abedi

Genre: Contemporary Romance

Sensuality: 8

I just read this one a couple days ago, and do not remember it. Not a great sign right? I agree.

The plot is the classic wealthy guy sweeps not so wealthy girl off her feet and she kind of complains about how uncomfortable his lifestyle and 'friends' are.

Now I don't mind reading a cliche plot every once in a while, but it has to be an entertaining cliche plot though. I skimmed through some of this one. I was wondering what the conflict was. Maybe authors don't need conflict in stories any more? I don't know.

Most of the supporting characters could have stayed out of the book. They didn't help the story.

The heroine read as a weak little princess somehow. And I feel kind of bad describing her like that for some reason.

I got this one for free on amazon. If you did too, it will help you pass the time. But I am not sure I would have purchase it.

2/5  *I gave it this rating because her best friends were really funny.

Kulti by Mariana Zapata 2/5

Kulti by Mariana Zapata

Genre: Contemporary Romance

Sensuality: 7

Why did this book take sooooo long to get to the point?! It felt as if it just rambled on, and on and ooooooon. I must say it was not a boring read. Kulti had its funny moments for sure, and reading about such a contact sport like soccer was great. But it felt as if it was an unnecessarily drawn out story.

It didn't help that the hero was a big uptight meanie. His attitude did not seem to change at any point of the book. In my head they are going to get divorced in 5 to 10 years.

I did A LOT of skimming to finish this one. It did not grab me, but I must give the author credit for creating an intelligent character in Sam. Zapata is a pretty good writer with a pretty boring book.

Rush (City Lights#3) by Emma Scott 3/5

Rush (City Lights#3) by Emma Scott

Genre: Young Adult Contemporary Romance

Sensuality: 8

This one was sweet to read. It read a bit like a fairy tale though, not 100% happy about that fact. But its not a completely boring plot.

My only complaint is that the characters voices sounded like 40 year old 19th century aristocracy somehow. They were 23 and 24 years, but sounded much more mature than their age. That made the book not ring true to me.

Mind you, I did enjoy not reading silly slang terms and phrases. The author painted a vivid picture about the violinist. I swear I heard the music she played in my head!

That was beautiful to read.

3/5

Deeper (Caroline & West #1) by Robin York 2/5

Deeper (Caroline & West #) by Robin York

Genre: Young Adult Contemporary Romance

Sensuality: 7

This book is so strange. The plot or conflict is actually interesting and relevant. BUUUUUT.....the author lost me very early on in the story.

It was boring to me, as well a bit unbelievable at times. The way the heroine went about "carrying on with life" post scandal read so choppy. I am pretty sure I am not making sense here. But the writers style is not smooth to me, it felt instead very random.

And to have a female go through a sex scandal, and have the book focused on how much the hero wants to sleep with her SO BAD, just was weird.

I'm sure in real life the "get back on that saddle" when you fall off thing is normal procedure, but it felt forced and uncomfortable.

Did not enjoy, and have no motivation or interest to finish. :( I am wondering what could book #2 be about?!
