Until Friday Night #1 by Abbi Glines 3/5

Until Friday Night #1 by Abbi Glines

Genre: Young Contemporary Romance

Sensuality: 6

I mildly enjoyed this one. I was feeling a loosely football themed romance when I stumbled across this book.

It was cute. The characters are in high school, so the drama was appropriate for that age.

This book occupied my time. I honestly wanted to read about the hero's best friends stories a bit more. They seem interesting.

Didn't really feel honest chemistry between the characters, but I did believe that the connection could happen based on the plot.

Alex (Cold Fury Hockey) by Sawyer Bennett 3/5

Alex (Cold Fury Hockey) by Sawyer Bennett

Genre: Contemporary Romance

Sensuality: 8.5

This one was an okay read. It being a book about a sport of course caught my attention. Its amazing that I do not watch football or hockey (find it quite boring actually), but I love reading about it.

I did feel like the story could have ended halfway through the book. The author focused on the hero's problems quite a bit. Somehow, it feels as if the heroine was neglected. The author took her time writing the steamy moments. But it felt like we didn't get into the characters' heads at all.

I finished it. That says alot these days. But on the other hand, that isn't saying much either.

Maybe borrow this one?

When You Dare by Lori Foster 2/5

When You Dare (Men Who Walk the Edge of Honor #1) by Lori Foster

Genre: Contemporary Romance

Sensuality: 7.5

Why do I find myself bored reading this book? It has a plot that is not original. (Rescue a woman from the hands of a bad man.) I am wondering if it would have been a better book if Ms. Foster brought the readers through the extraction process?

I am not sure, but the book was so flat. No action. Just a moody man in a huge mansion and a slow thinking and speaking writer.

This one is not a good one.

Sweet Hope (Sweet Home #3) 5/5 by Tillie Cole

Sweet Hope by Tillie Cole

Genre: Young Adult Contemporary Romance

Sensuality: 9

This one was a bit of an emotional roller coaster. I don’t mind that in books, if it is done right.

The book had an obvious plot, but not an obvious path to getting to the solution. The hero and heroine I found interesting. I am a humble art lover, so found that aspect of the story pretty cool.

Can’t comment too much about the book with out giving it away. But it is emotional and a little raw in regards to human life. It ain’t always easy for all of us.

The other books in the series are good reads. This one for some reason is my favorite though.

Great book.

The Tornado by Missy Blue 3.5/5

The Tornado by Missy Blue

Genre: Adult Romance

Sensuality: 9

This book was not as boring as some of the other ones I have recently read, but it was a bit of a yawn none the less. The characters felt real for a change though. I felt as if the author made an attempt to give the main characters some depth. The reader had a chance to get to know them a little.

The subject matter is heavy, (sexual abuse) but is not heavily focused on. The 'hot' scenes in this one are pretty graphic. Felt like I was in the damn room sometimes. Nothing boring about those parts! But, the plot is a bit obvious and boring though.

The honesty of the characters kept me until the end though. And I love MMA...so that kind of hooked me too.

Sinful by Joan Johnston 2/5

Genre: Contemporary Romance

Sensuality: 6

I am not even done reading this one yet. But I felt urged to warn the masses about how boring this book is.

WARNING!!! This book is very, very boring.

The strange thing is that one of my most favorite books of ALL time is a Johnston book (The Cowboy).
This author LOVES her family feuds. I don't mind one, but every page must have "but your a Grayhawk and I'm a Flynn!"  "I'm a Flynn and your a Grayhawk"?????? Why are we reminding ourselves of our last names so often?

It felt like the author was trying to convince us the feud was real. Real and serious!

There is no chemistry between the main characters either.

Just don't buy it. This one was an impulse buy that I completely regret. Especially since there was a great classics DVD I could have purchased instead.

Sensuality: 9

This book was an interesting read. I enjoyed how strange the hero was. He's a bit socially awkward and uncomfortable.

The relationship was not an ideal one from the very beginning between the hero and heroine. The book looked at how imperfect two people can be for each other despite having a heavy attraction to one another. A bit cliche these days...

The story did seem to build up a lot, and never really get all that interesting. It had its hot and heavy moments, but it was somehow a bit boring to me.

I find strange characters such as the hero's fascinating, so my curiosity in regards to him kept me reading on. If  I had to do it all over again though, I wouldn't have purchased a hard copy. It is not the worse book I have read by far though.

You know when you're traveling and want a book to kill time? Yup. That's what this was.

Revved by Samantha Towle 4.5/5

Revved by Samantha Towle

Genre: Young Adult Contemporary Romance

Sensuality: 9

I really enjoyed this one. This is actually the first book that I have read from Towle. Not bad at all.

The chemistry between the hero and heroine are off the wall. Towle painted a potty mouth, aggressive and sensitive hero in Carrick.

After you read it, you may have a brand new appreciation for professional race car driving. I love how the author really got into the sport and business of it all. It was quite interesting.

Very strong characters were created. Authentic characters that feel quite real. I was tempted to research the hero's name on google after reading! (I really did research the top F1 drivers in the world though!)

This will not disappoint.

With Every Heartbeat (Forbidden Men Series 2,3,4) by Linda Kage 4/5, 2/5, 2/5

Genre: Young Adult Contemporary Romance

Sensuality: 7/10

Kage got me with this series! I gatta say! She got me!

And NOT in a good way!

The first book I read was book 2. It was a B+ for me. It was alright. All of the books deal with some type of serious conflict or drama.

But the outside drama by book 4 was waaaaaayyyy too much for me. I do not mind reading books from his and her points of view.

What I mean is, I don't mind reading a book1 (his point of view), then book 2 (her point of view).

The problem with this series is that they go over the same stuff in every single book! What happened in book 2 is rehashed to some extent in book 3 and 4. Drove me freakin nuts!!

Other reviewers commented on the fact that the author spent way too much time on the supporting character's dramas and less on the hero and heroines development. I agree. They all have good plots to be great books...but they just weren't to me. But she got me with all the football! Who could resist?! ;)

When you see such HIGH ratings you think that the couple of poor ones are a fluke right? Wrong!

What bugs me too is that the author is making book 5 seem so damn juicy. She keeps on hinting at the main characters of that one through out. You wish you had a Ten in your life. Dirty mouth and all.

And you know what? I'm going to more than likely buy the damn thing! Thanks alot Kage!

Happy reading.

(Noel) Book 2- 4/5
(Pick) Book 3- boring, boring, and boring again 2/5
(Hamilton) Book 4- oh my God! This was even more boring 2/5

Prick: A Stepbrother Romance by Sabrina Paige 3/5

Prick: A Stepbrother Romance by Sabrina Paige

Genre: Young Adult Contemporary Romance

Sensuality: 9

Lots of high reviews for this one. Must be because it's a novelty, 'I want to screw my stepbrother' story. Sure as ever can NOT be because of the over all quality of the book.

I was not impressed. I finished it because I had to. It is def. not the worst book I have ever read. But I am craving conflict, depth and intrigue in novels. YA authors tend to not go deep at all with writing these days. And the book world seems heavily saturated with YA.

Ummmm...you could read it and NOT hate it. But you have read better. Believe me. The heroine drove me kind of nuts personally. Her fascination with the hero's 'prick' fascinated me...And the title of the book is strange....yes?
