This was ok.

It reminded me of the Bared to You series a bit, minus the sexual abuse. And of course if a book reminds you of the Bared to You series then it is reminiscent of 50 Shades. 

If we have stories about a rich man and an equally successful wealthy woman, it could be interesting. But this is about a wealthy man needing control of a not so wealthy woman and expressing love through material things. Some readers still love this type of story line and do not find it old. I am getting kind of over it though. However, I was fully aware of what I was getting myself into.

The author writes well. However, the story line was kind of weak. This is not a stand alone book, based on how it ended And I am NOT encouraged to read book #2.

It is not an original story, but it could pass the time.

Have you ever read a book that made you want to live the best life ever now? Not yet? Well, Home Again may do it for you. It did not read like a romance novel at all, though it had a romantic thread running through it. It made me reflect on my faith a little, but it’s not a Christian/Inspirational book by far. It is a bit of a tear jerker though. And it does make you question the ‘life after death’ debate. So if you are not into stories like that, you may not enjoy Home Again.

Home Again revolves around Madeline and Angel, two successful adults in their own right, who were once upon a time, childhood sweethearts. They find themselves being forced to reconnect when Angel is forced to go back home after years of separation from the only family he has left. In this story you see how they both let go of the past and heal through the unplanned and unintentional help of her daughter and his brother. 

When you read this story it will be no mystery about how it unfolds. However, the true  beauty of it is how the author goes about showing us. It is heart wrenching at times, but yet quite real. I love when I finish reading a book and ask myself questions. And it just so happens that this book has a reader’s guide at the end to do just that.

This is not a recent novel. But if you can find it, I think you would enjoy it. I happened to have found it at a local fair.

Enraptured, by Alannah Carbonneau

I enjoyed this one. It was real, and kind of sweet.

The plot focused on Ella and Dace. Dace is a local club owner and Ella asks him for a job after falling on some tough times. Her demeanor is not one that classically fits a night club, but she has to make it work somehow. Dace is completely rough around the edges and terribly attracted to his new girl. They find themselves creating a strange kind of friendship that does not last with the attraction they have for each other.

I liked the plot, but it could have been developed a bit more. I am a bit tired of reading about characters named Ella though. And the character the author painted was fluffy and unsure at times. And I have to say! A bit of a tease. The chemistry between the two is intense. But it felt as if Dace was a bit too mature to be dealing with the classic silly miscommunication common for a teenage romance. Neither character were a teenager, but they acted as if they were.

Give it a shot. It still may be for free.

If you want to read an honest, laugh out loud and raunchy read then try this one. My sister actually led me on to this one, and I was so happy I read it. 

I don’t even want to get into a synopsis of the story. But I will tell you that it is about a funny and down to earth woman who has thoughts and says things that every 20, 30 or 40 year old woman can relate to.

I mean, The Bachelorette Party had me screaming out loud at some points in fascination at some of the situations. It also made me want to be more vocal and brave as a woman.

Just try it. Please! And tell me you hated it.

This book felt like I was listening to a robot dictate to me. When I think back, there wasn’t much of a plot to begin with.

A young woman gets a job to work as an assistant for a man that seems to hate her. Said man is a single father with woman issues that he takes out on the young woman. She leaves the job after a while, theeeeeennn he is interested in her. (Sigh) The reason I am referring to the main characters as woman and man is because I completely forgot their names, and I am too lazy and disinterested to open the kindle book and find out.

Thank God this one was free.
