Untouched, by Melody Grace 4.5/5

Untouched by Melody Grace

Genre: Contemporary Young Adult

Sensuality: 8

I enjoyed this one. But it was too short for me. I know a book is good when I daydream about how I think the rest of it should unfold. This is the beginning of a series I believe. And I am not a fan of series, because some authors like to take advantage of a situation at times!

Anyway, Untouched circles around Emerson and Juliet (don’t you love the name Juliet? I never hear it these days). Emerson lives in a small town, and Juliet is visiting with her family. They both have familial struggles and hardships and form a believable bond in the midst of their messed up situations.

Their relationship seems true and the situations are relevant ones. The story seemed very sweet to me. It is one that I read in a jiffy because it’s very short. And I wondered how the story would move. The length of the story is my only complaint. Many authors are trying their hand at young adult fiction and failing. Grace is onto something here. She writes very well. Very emotional. And I love the cover. I’m one of those persons that are drawn first to covers half the time. Then I check out the synopsis and reviews.

Get it now while its free, you should enjoy it.

Sugar Daddy by Lisa Kleypas 5/5

Sugar Daddy by Lisa Kleypas

Genre: Contemporary Romance

Sensuality : 8

This is it! One of the BEST romance books of ALL time. Drama, growth, inspiration, love and romance. Hot and heavy romance. Not all of the erotica that’s popular right now. Just good all romance. Don’t let the title fool you. This is no fluff. It is NOT about a girl trying to find a sugar daddy.

Sugar Daddy is about Liberty, Hardy and Gabe. A bit of a love triangle, but yet.. not! Liberty is a woman that has come a long way professionally. The author allows the reader to watch her growth and hustle. I felt kind of proud of her actually! She meets one very interesting man that changes her life forever. And this man is not even a romantic interest.

The romance in this novel as I said are not explicit, but they are intense and still give me the chills to this day. No matter how many times I read this book.

I love stories highlighting strong, take charge men. This has got even better…strong, take charge TEXAN men. I wonder…are Texas males really this appealing? ;) Authors do tend to paint a very convincing picture. Also, I love reading about strong intelligent females. Most of my ultimate favorite books have smart gals in them. Go figure!

Read it, and just try and tell me it’s not a great book. You have to go back  for good books these days. I am finding loads of mediocre books coming out recently.

Burn by Maya Banks 3/5

Burn by Maya Banks

Genre: Contemporary Romance

Sensuality : 10

This one will not be on my favorites list. Banks has given me a couple of enjoyable reads recently. I have enjoyed the Kelly/KGI series and have been meaning to check out her historical (my favorite genre of all time!) novels. But this novel had no real conflict or meat.

The story centers around a middle aged self-made millionaire male (Ash) and Josie. Josie is a ‘free-spirited’ artist, living paycheck to paycheck. Ash is the night and shining type, willing and able to take care of Josie. Her independence and his dominance collide in this novel.

As you can undoubtedly see… NO CONFLICT! Maya tends to write pretty steamy novels, so if that is your main draw for books, then buy this one. But even in that vein, I am tired of authors trying the Fifty Shades thing! Can’t we create a male character that does not expect to be updated about every single move their woman makes? And threaten to 'spank' her if she doesn't? I wonder…

Not one of my favorites. Wish I got it for free.

Naked by Megan Hart 2/5

Naked by Megan Hart

Genre: Contemporary Romance

Sensuality : 9

This one was a good read. Not great! But good. I never read a book about such a strange relationship. When you read the brief outline of the book you may agree that it is a bit unusual.

The main female character fell for an acquaintance of her gay best friend. And said acquaintance is bi-sexual. Though it has an interesting premise, the book seemed to revolve around some boring issues.

1. The heroine is black, boyfriend is white
2. She grew up kind of half Jewish
3. Her boyfriend is/was into guys

Neither characters were all that interesting. And the supporting characters in the story did not help at all. It felt as if the author was filling up pages sometimes when she focused on the people around them.

Don’t know if Hart’s other books are any good, but I would not invest in this one.
